October Here and There

One day Logan came off the school bus with this nasty looking injury. I was so mad when he told me it happened because someone yanked his arm and caused him to fall into the seat, that I took this picture and was just about to send it off to the transportation department, along with a scathing email, until I asked a few more questions about it.

Turns out, Logan, you were crawling around on the floor of the school bus and messing around with another kid. While I believe you that the kid yanked your arms out from under you - what do you expect to happen when you make choices like that? Well, now we know, right?
Behave!

Wow, now that is a hug!

Let's try that again....
Much better!

Another self-portrait.

Claire coloring. See that crazy hair? Get used to it, kid. It's in your genes, straight from Mommy.

But, you're looking especially well-coiffed on this morning!
Love you guys!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Dear Logan,
Well, I've been told that all kids will do it at some point, but I dunno, I kind of didn't expect it from you. You, who used to go into screaming fits of rage any time anyone looked sideways at you while holding a pair of scissors in hand. You, whom I once had to take into a kiddie barber shop bathroom to "cry it out" before I could let the nice hairdresser lay a hand on you. Well, let's just say that you have overcome your fear - so much so, that you decided to blindly scissor away at your very own hair.
.
I don't even know what to call this look. I suppose you could say it's machete chic?

Nice stripe...
I don't suppose we could convince anyone that this is your natural part?

Oh, Logan. Some days you are such a mess. Good thing I love you so much.

Love,
Mama

Snips and Snails and......Ginormous Goose Eggs?

Dear Logan,
I would like to thank you for the heart attack you nearly gave me yesterday afternoon. Apparently, 424 warnings NOT to put all your weight on the keyboard tray of the computer desk were simply not enough. So when it finally gave way and you ended up slamming your head into the desk on the way down, it must have come as a total shock.
.
I'm sure if I had warned you for the 425th time, this would not have happened.
Right. My fault then.

In all honesty, I had never seen a goose egg the size of this one. Even you knew it was remarkable, because you didn't even want to see the doctor for the stated reason: "I look ridiculous!"
The doctor said this may eventually lead to two black eyes and several different colors. This will be interesting. In the meantime, let's work on your active listening skills, shall we?

Love,
Mama
